New Project Manager Marina Bartoletti

The World Climate Game has a new project manager. Since September, Marina Bartoletti has been leading the further development of our innovative educational tool. She brings a broad range of interdisciplinary experience and has, among other roles, worked as a guest lecturer at the University of Graz with a focus on Environmental Systems Sciences.


Milestone in the World Climate Game: 100 Games in 2025

In 2025, we reached a special milestone: the World Climate Game was played more than 100 times. In over one hundred sessions, participants developed essential life skills, took responsibility, and repeatedly “saved the world” through play. Nearly all groups came to the same core realization: cooperation is the key to a peaceful and climate-neutral world.

06.–08.03.2026 | Vienna | Community Game - the World Climate Game

Now everyone interested has the opportunity to participate in the World Climate Game and experience what crises, decisions, and collaborative problem-solving feel like. Participation in the game simultaneously completes Module 1 of the game leader training, as the full game experience represents the first step in the training.

26.–28.01.2026 | Vienna | BRG6 Marchettigasse

At the end of January, 40 students from BRG6 Marchettigasse take on the challenges of the World Climate Game. In international roles, they negotiate the climate crisis, social justice, and global cooperation, and experience just how demanding the path toward a sustainable future can be.


27.-29.01.2026 | Mödling | HTL Mödling

The 4 A HBTU class at HTL Mödling will be playing the World Climate Game from January 27 to 29. Under the guidance of Martina Längauer, the students engage with global challenges, make decisions as international actors, and experience how cooperation and strategic action can shape the future.


28.-30.01.2026 | Neusiedl am See | BG and BRG Neusiedl am See

From January 28 to 30, BG and BRG Neusiedl am See will be playing the World Climate Game. Students in the twelfth grade from the business-focused classes will take on global responsibility for three days, negotiating climate protection, economic development, and social challenges, and experiencing how complex international decision-making processes can be.

02.–04.02.2026 | Lienz | HAK Lienz

A first-year class at HAK Lienz will play the World Climate Game in February. Under the guidance of Birgit Hippacher, one of our most dedicated facilitators, the students take on the roles of international stakeholders, negotiate interests, and experience the impacts of their decisions within the game. Elke Haubner-Köll supports the course of the game as the operator.


03.–05.02.2026 | Dornbirn | HTL Dornbirn

From February 3 to 5, a class from HTL Dornbirn will play the World Climate Game. The game is facilitated by Johannes Wittmann, with support from operator Michael Kneissl. The students engage with global challenges and experience international decision-making processes through the game. In addition, three observers are taking part, who will complete their training as World Climate Game trainers during this assignment.


04.–06.02.2026 | Kematen in Tyrol | MS Kematen in Tyrol

Experiencing sustainable development firsthand and making decisions that influence the world—that is what the students of MS Kematen in Tyrol do in the World Climate Game. The game is facilitated by Eva Befeldt, supported by operator Julia Hechenberger. In addition, two observers and other teachers are taking part, deepening their experience with the game. An exciting experience awaits everyone involved.


09.–11.02.2026 | Melk | Stiftsgymnasium Melk

In the historic building of Stiftsgymnasium Melk, the World Climate Game already feels at home. From February 9 to 11, the game returns to this location. The game is facilitated by Silvia Zeller, accompanied by operator Michael Sollböck. The students strengthen their life skills and experience self-efficacy and responsibility through the game.


09.–11.02.2026 | Mödling | HTL Mödling

From February 9th to 11th, the first-year students of HTL Mödling will be playing the World Climate Game. HTL Mödling already has its own game set to make this learning experience accessible to all students. In the game, they take on responsibility, make joint decisions, and experience how collaboration and systems thinking contribute to shaping a shared future.


09.–13.02.2026 | Langenzersdorf | MS Langenzersdorf

From February 9th to 13th, the Langenzersdorf Middle School will be playing the World Climate Game. Under the guidance of one of our most experienced game leaders, Birgit Hippacher, the students will explore global challenges and experience how decisions, responsibility, and cooperation interact.


10.–12.02.2026 | Vienna | BRG Seestadt

From February 10th to 12th, two groups from BRG Seestadt will be playing the World Climate Game. The students take on responsibility for scarce resources and grapple with key questions of global justice. How can the Earth's resources be distributed, and how can one's own population be fed? Through the game, they experience how decisions are interconnected and why cooperation is crucial for sustainable solutions.


10.–12.02.2026 | Wiener Neustadt | HTL Wiener Neustadt

From February 10th to 12th, students at the HTL Wiener Neustadt will participate in the World Climate Game. Taking on different roles, they will make decisions regarding climate protection measures, democratic processes, animal husbandry, and dealing with natural disasters. In doing so, they will explore how to create a world they want to live in and experience the importance of responsibility and cooperation.


16.–18.02.2026 | Dornbirn | HTL Dornbirn

From February 16th to 18th, the HTL Dornbirn will be participating in the World Climate Game. Under the guidance of the two dedicated game leaders, Marcel Maier and Carmen Feuchtner, the students will grapple with complex questions about the future, make decisions in international roles, and experience the importance of responsibility, cooperation, and collective action.


17.–18.02.2026 | St. Michael in Burgenland | MS St. Michael

From February 17th to 18th, the St. Michael Middle School in Burgenland will be playing the World Climate Game. Under the direction of Johannes Wittmann, the students will explore issues surrounding resource use and how to deal with natural disasters. Through the game, they will experience how decisions impact societies and how important proactive action is.


18.–20.02.2026 | Brixlegg | MS Brixlegg

From February 18th to 20th, the Brixlegg Middle School will be playing the World Climate Game. The students will explore global challenges and experience the importance of responsibility and cooperation for sustainable solutions. The game will highlight possible courses of action and make shaping the future a tangible experience.


18.–20.02.2026 | Neuenkirchen | Schule Neuenkirchen

The second World Climate Game of the year in Germany is taking place in Neuenkirchen. From February 18th to 20th, primary and secondary school students will participate in the World Climate Game together. Under the guidance of our experienced trainer, Marek Zink, they will explore issues of democracy and peace and experience how collective decisions shape societies.


18.–20.02.2026 | Bregenz | HTL Bregenz

From February 18th to 20th, the HTL Bregenz will be playing the World Climate Game. Following its implementation at the HTL Dornbirn, this game will also be used in Vorarlberg to intensively address future issues. The students will negotiate, make decisions, and experience firsthand how complex it is to solve global challenges together and take responsibility.


24.–26.02.2026 | Augsburg | University of Augsburg

From February 24th to 26th, the University of Augsburg will be playing under the direction of Rouven Kaiser. Students will explore questions about democratic decision-making processes and the design of liveable cities, experience how political decisions influence societal developments.


25.–27.02.2026 | Grödig | MORG Grödig

From February 25th to 27th, the MORG Grödig school will be playing the World Climate Game. The students will explore questions of resource distribution and social justice, and experience how decisions influence global contexts and necessitate collective action.
